Crocodile Lightning’s headpiece and shoulder adornment(worn around the hips by the artist) are parts of a traditional Thai dancing costume. The rich color palette symbolizes the prosperity of Thai culture since 1238. Traditional Thai dancers engage in a ritual where they ask for blessing from the ancestors and express their gratitude to them before putting on the costumes.
